DEPUTY SPEAKER LAMI PERFORMS FOUNDATION LAYING CEREMONY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A BLOCK OF TWO ULTRA MODERN CLASSROOMS IN CSS AGILA

In a significant move towards enhancing the learning environment for Ado students, the Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and Vice Chairman, Forum of Deputy Speakers of Nigeria, Chief Hon Mrs Lami Danladi Ogenyi, on Sunday, 23rd February 2025, performed the foundation laying ceremony for the construction of a block of two ultra-modern classrooms for Community Secondary School, Agila.

While performing the ceremony, which marked the commencement of work at the school’s permanent site, the Deputy Speaker noted that she empathized with the challenges students faced due to inadequate classrooms. She added that it was imperative for her to donate additional classrooms to facilitate seamless learning.

 

The lawmaker further stated that work would continue unabated until she returns for the project’s commissioning in the near future.

Speaking differently, Mr Respect Ogezi, who witnessed the foundation laying ceremony, expressed gratitude to the Deputy Speaker for bringing development to the community. He noted that the initiative was a first of its kind in the school from an elected member of the House.

 

In a separate remark, former Ado LG Chairman and critical stakeholder, Hon Mrs Onma Ogenyi, thanked the Deputy Speaker for emulating Governor Alia’s footsteps in bringing development to the grassroots. She added that Community Secondary School held fond memories for her, having attended the school as a student.

 

Youth leader of Akpoge/Ogbilolo ward, Mr Edeh Army, thanked the Deputy Speaker for facilitating and executing various projects for the people of Ado state constituency, including provision of potable water sources, the mega road project, and educational aid, amongst others.

Speaking on behalf of the Agila Traditional Council, the Otsonu-Agila, Chief Otse Orinya, conveyed the council’s gratitude to their daughter and sister, Chief Lami Danladi Ogenyi, for remembering her roots and driving development from the state.
