DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONAL: NOVEMBER 14 UNMERITED DIVINE COVERAGE (1) SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 6: 25 – 34
In the ordinary, most human beings are spiritually and physically oblivious of how divinely covered they are in this world. We all alike, thought completely unprotected in the world. The fear of attacks from people, affliction of sicknesses and diseases have made many to go seeking for self-protections. This has pushed many into meeting the evil spirit worlds, seeking or buying supernatural coverages. In another development, we all have subjected ourselves to worrying over almost everything in life. The spirit of fear seems to be dominating the whole world steadily. Besides these fears, stand incredible gifts to all human beings. This is talking about unmerited coverage God provided for everybody. Our Lord Jesus Christ told us OF how human beings are highly valued by God above all creatures in Matthew 6: 25 – 34. This devotional is going to explore the revealed meaning of Jesus’ position on this passage in series.
Jesus told His Disciples not to be anxious of anything as long as they seek first the Kingdom of God. In other word, Jesus is saying that anyone who genuinely knows that God is his/her Father, should not involve self in palpitating anxiousness like unbelievers. Jesus said, in the presence of God, we are most important to God than all He created. God knows what we need and at the appropriate time the need should be made available (Matthew 6: 31 – 32). Jesus is not saying we are to be sitting down doing nothing for what to eat, dress with or how to secure our tomorrow. He seems to be talking against the dangerous anxieties that make us forget the presence of “Divine Provisions as well as Divine Coverages” in times of wide-spread sicknesses and diseases.
Against all our anxiousness over things we need in life or our fears about issues of life, God’s divine coverage over us can be amazing. This is what this devotional tagged as “Unmerited Divine Coverage.” It is unmerited, precious and marvelous but freely offered to us by God. Spiritual understanding of how God makes provisions to cover us from our enemies, natural hazards, misfortunes and disasters will inform us how much we matter to God. Instead of going about in anxieties to the point of desperations, we have to rely on the availability of His “Unmerited Divine Coverage” thinking less of our unsecured conditions of life.
PRAYER:
BLESSED FATHER, my anxieties about necessities of life have driven me far away from your presence for long, kindly reinforce my trust in you, waiting for your coverage over my life in Jesus name.
