The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI has carried out a precision air strike on a major terrorist logistics hub in Jilli, Gubio Local Government Area of Borno state, neutralising scores of insurgents and destroying key assets in what military authorities describe as a decisive blow to terrorist operations in the North-East.
Details of the operation were contained in a statement issued by Sani Uba(Lieutenant Colonel) Media Information Officer at the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI.
According to the statement, the intelligence-driven strike was executed on April 11, 2026, following sustained Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions over the Bindul–Jilli axis—an area identified as a major corridor for movements by the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) and its collaborators.
The military disclosed that the operation was launched after credible intelligence confirmed the convergence of terrorist fighters, logistics couriers, and supplies at the enclave.
“A rigorous and professional targeting process was undertaken. Target fidelity was confirmed through multiple credible human intelligence sources, supported by persistent aerial surveillance,” the statement said.
It added that upon final validation, air assets executed a series of precision strikes on the target while surveillance platforms maintained real-time monitoring for battle damage assessment.
Post-strike evaluation revealed that the operation achieved high accuracy, leading to the destruction of the logistics hub, elimination of several terrorists, and the obliteration of their vehicles and equipment.
“Scores of terrorists were neutralised in the strike, with their vehicles and technicals destroyed, while surviving elements were observed fleeing in multiple directions,” the military confirmed.
The statement further noted that intelligence reports indicated the targeted group was in the final stages of receiving supplies intended for coordinated attacks on military formations within the Gubio axis.
“This decisive action has significantly disrupted imminent terrorist plans and degraded their operational capability within the theatre,” it added.
In a related development, troops arrested a suspected logistics courier identified as “Turja Bulu” in Ngamdu on April 12, who reportedly confessed to involvement in a recent attack in Benisheik and to supplying food items to terrorists operating in the Magumeri-Gubio area.
The military reiterated its ban on the use of motorcycles across the North-East operational theatre, particularly in Borno State and Yobe State , citing their continued use by insurgents for mobility and logistics.
Operation HADIN KAI assured residents that ongoing operations would be intensified to dismantle all terrorist enclaves and restore lasting peace in the region.
“The Joint Task Force remains resolute in sustaining pressure on terrorist elements, disrupting their logistics networks, and denying them freedom of movement,” the statement concluded.
