The African Democratic Congress(ADC) in Ohaozara Local Government Chapter has formally ratified the suspension of Barrister Silas Onu, reaffirming the party’s commitment to the party’s constitution and democracy.
The decision was reached on Friday, April 24, 2026, following the receipt of an official suspension letter by the Local Government Chairman, Elder Chukwu Friday Osi.
The letter, delivered by the party’s Secretary, Engr. Emmanuel Innocent Ngwu, alongside the Deputy Secretary, Mr. Nwutobo Okoronkwo, outlined allegations against Onu and recommended his suspension in line with the party’s constitution.
In swift response, the party leadership convened an emergency meeting the same day at its office located along New Market Road, Uburu.
The meeting brought together key executives and stakeholders within the ADC Ohaozara Chapter to deliberate on the matter.
After extensive discussions, the leadership unanimously resolved to ratify the suspension, affirming that the action takes immediate effect pending the outcome of further investigations and any directives from the party’s disciplinary committee or state executive.
Speaking on the development, Elder Osi emphasized that the decision reflects the chapter’s dedication to upholding party rules and maintaining organizational integrity. He noted that due process would be followed to ensure fairness in handling the allegations.
The Secretary and Deputy Secretary have been mandated to formally communicate the resolution to the ADC state leadership, as well as to Barrister Silas Onu.
