The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) is set to deepen stakeholder awareness of Nigerian Content compliance, financing opportunities and community participation as it convenes an engagement and sensitisation forum for stakeholders from Abia, Cross River and Akwa Ibom States.
The forum, scheduled for Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. prompt, will hold at CEEDAPEG Hotel, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, bringing together operating and service companies in the oil and gas industry, host community contractors, financial institutions and other critical players in the sector.
According to NCDMB, the engagement is designed to enhance industry-wide understanding and adoption of critical initiatives relating to Nigerian Content compliance and access to financing, while providing stakeholders with practical information on opportunities available within the Nigerian Content framework.
A major focus of the forum will be the demonstration of new features of the upgraded 1% Nigerian Content Development Fund (NCDF) Payment Portal, aimed at improving stakeholders’ understanding of the payment process and facilitating greater compliance.
The Board will also provide guidance on the revised Community Contractors Financing Scheme, an initiative targeted at improving access to finance for contractors operating within host communities and strengthening their capacity to participate more effectively in oil and gas industry activities.

Another key area of discussion will be the clarification of processes for obtaining NCDF 1% Compliance Certification, which remains an important requirement within the Nigerian Content regulatory framework.
The engagement will further serve as a customer-focused platform where participants can interact directly with financial institutions, including the Bank of Industry (BoI) and the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM Bank).
The participation of the two financial institutions is expected to provide stakeholders with valuable information on financing windows, requirements and opportunities for businesses seeking to expand their operations and improve their capacity to deliver services within the oil and gas sector.
The NCDMB said the forum is particularly targeted at host community contractors, oil and gas service companies, financial institutions and other interested stakeholders across the three participating states.
The engagement comes as part of broader efforts to strengthen collaboration between the Board and industry stakeholders while ensuring that Nigerian Content initiatives translate into greater opportunities for indigenous businesses and host communities.
Beyond sensitisation, the forum is expected to provide participants with an opportunity to seek clarification on compliance requirements, understand available financing mechanisms and engage directly with relevant institutions responsible for implementing and supporting the various initiatives.
The Board has also opened participation to interested stakeholders from other locations through a virtual platform, allowing a wider range of industry players to benefit from the sensitisation programme.
Interested participants requiring further enquiries were advised to contact Livinus on 0806 507 5669 or David on 0703 041 3307, while participants from other locations can register through the Zoom link provided by the NCDMB.
The Uyo engagement underscores the Board’s continued drive to ensure that Nigerian Content compliance is accompanied by practical access to financing, stronger stakeholder engagement and increased participation of indigenous businesses in the oil and gas value chain.
