Senator Osita Izunaso, Director of the Directorate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, has dismissed allegations that the massive crowd at the party’s Kaduna presidential campaign rally was artificially generated using artificial intelligence (AI), insisting that the turnout was genuine and verifiable.

Izunaso, who spoke after the council’s inaugural meeting, expressed satisfaction with the turnout and seamless conduct of the Kaduna rally, predicting that the party would attract an even larger crowd in Kano State during its forthcoming presidential campaign.

He challenged those questioning the authenticity of the Kaduna crowd to consider the large number of supporters who thronged the stadium, noting that access to the venue become difficult because of the massive turnout.

“No, that is not true. We don’t rely on rumours here. We rely on practicality. If you were in Kaduna by 8 a.m. that morning, the stadium was filled to the brim. Even to have access to enter the stadium was a problem,” he said.

The APC campaign directorate chief added that the rally was streamed live, arguing that the live coverage provided evidence of the crowd that gathered at the venue.

“These things were live. They were streamed live. So how can anybody be talking about AI at this point in time in Kaduna?” he queried.

Izunaso also disclosed that the campaign council had mapped out its strategy for the first phase of the presidential campaign, with rallies scheduled for Cross River, Gombe, Nasarawa and Ekiti states, as well as a South-South zonal rally in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

According to him, the next rally will hold in Cross River on November 2, followed by Gombe on November 3, Nasarawa on November 4 and Ekiti on November 5. The South-South zonal rally is scheduled for November 7 in Port Harcourt.

He commended the Kaduna State Government, led by Governor Uba Sani, for its contributions to the successful conduct of the rally, urging other APC governors to make adequate preparations for the forthcoming campaign events.

On the party’s expectations in Kano, Izunaso expressed confidence that the state would deliver a larger crowd than Kaduna, citing its larger population and the anticipated mobilisation of supporters.

“Of course, we’re going to every state of the federation,” he said when asked whether the campaign would visit Kano.

“I can tell you that we’re going to have more crowd in Kano. Kano has more population than Kaduna. We have more people in Kano than Kaduna,” he added.

Asked how he intended to mobilise supporters in the South-East, particularly in his home state of Imo, Izunaso declined to disclose the campaign’s strategy, assuring that the party’s mobilisation plans would become evident when the campaign reaches the region.

“That shouldn’t be a problem at all. How would I be telling you my strategy? When we get there, you’ll see how we do it,” he said.
