HON. GODDAY ADVOCATES EXPEDIENT STRATEGIES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF IDOMA NATION.

Hon Godday Samuel who was one of the keynote speakers at the annual convention of Idoma Association, USA charges relevant stakeholders as well as Idoma sons and daughters in diaspora to device workable solutions for the security and socioeconomic development of the Idoma Nation. Speaking at the convention on Saturday August 3, 2019, in New York, the House of Reps. Member Representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency called on all stakeholders especially those in diaspora to continue partnering with the State Government in ensuring the safety and socioeconomic development of the Idoma Nation.

In his keynote address, Hon Godday posited that there can be socioeconomic development without reliable security of lives and property fully operational and vice versa. The development political scientist, Hon. Godday however noted, “for peace to thrive in Idoma Land, the issues of unemployment, poverty and illiteracy must be addressed to positively keep our youths engaged”.

He called on the Idoma Association USA to partner with international organisations and other NGOs within the United States to generate possible supports especially in the areas of education and computer literacy for communities in idomaland. Hon. Godday also enjoyed participants at the convention to deliberate on workable solutions that will foster rapid and sustainable developments in Idoma land across the nine local government areas of Venue State.

Earlier, the Hon. member had appreciated the efforts of Idoma Association USA in the areas of provision of scholarship awards to outstanding idoma students and relief materials for displaced persons in Agatu resulting from the Fulani herders’ attacks in 2016. He charged all stakeholders to support the peace building efforts of the state government across the state especially in Agatu to ensure a safe and secure lively hood in Benue. God bless the Idoma Nation, the Hon. Member said leaving the podium.
