Benue Schools To Resume Sept. 21th

Benue state government has approved september 21th 2020 as resumption date for all schools across Benue state.
Commissioner for Education Benue state Professor Dennis Ityavya who disclosed this wednesday while briefing journalists said all primary, secondary and tertiary institutions are to abide by the directive.
He explained that the resumption is for the first term of 2020 and 2021 academic session stressing that the third term of other categories of pupils and students except JSS 3 and SSS 3 has been cancelled including payment of school fees for the third term.
According to the commissioner, it was a collective decision of stakeholders in the education sector in the state that all tertiary institution be fumigated and COVID 19 protocol strictly observed.
He called on all parents to endeavour to provide face mask for the pupil while school authorities are to provide hand washing facilities in the school premises and monitor the compliance of students to the protocols especially as it concerns social distancing in terms of sitting arrangements and proper and constant washing of hands.
Prof Ityavya noted that schools with higher population will have to operate morning and afternoon session to avoid congestion.
The Education Commissioner who acknowledged the compliance of Benue people towards COVID 19 protocols said first term will end 18th december 2020 while second term will commence 7th January 2021 and end in march of same year.
