Chairman,House Committee on Foreign Affairs,Rt.Hon.(Dr.) Yusuf Buba Yakub, has described the death of Comrade Gyamanu Shadrach Hamawa,a staunch political stakeholder and erstwhile Labour leader in Adamawa State,as a sad loss to the political and Labour communities of Hong Local Government Area and Adamawa State at large.

The lawmaker, who made the above revelation on Thursday in Abuja via a letter of condolence he personally authored to the family of the deceased, said he felt serious grief at the passing of another close political ally at Garaha less than a year after losing another political associate,M. D Kalapili, in the community. The Gombi/ Hong Representative, however, thanked God for the life the retired Civil Servant and former Labour leader lived, including the great legacies that he left behind, which,he said, would continue to speak for him now that he is no more.

The rest of the condolence message titled: MY HEART-FELT CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF OUR FATHER AND BROTHER, COMRADE GYAMANU SHADRACH HAMAWA , reads:

“I write with grief and shock to mourn the passing of our brother and father, Comrade Gyamanu Shadrach Hamawa, a brilliant and charismatic gentleman Technocrat, Labour Leader and Politician, whose sun set unexpectedly yesterday Tuesday, March 5, 2022.

“While I agree that death may come whenever it will for all ages, persons and genders, the death of Comrade G.S Hamawa is one that has come with a lot of pain, especially, as it has happened less than a year after such a similar loss of another close ally and brother, Hon. M.D Kalapil.

“Certainly, these are moments for strong emotions, but as humans with total belief in God, our dear Creator, we cannot ask God questions. We must, therefore, resign to fate and resort to prayers to God for the deceased and the family he has left behind.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with them at the moment.Garaha will surely miss the astute Labour leader dearly. The Labour community and our dear State will also miss him dearly at a time his valuable wisdom and experience would have been for us sources of strength and direction. Our solace, however, lies in the legacies he has left behind.

“For myself, my family and, indeed, on behalf of the good people of Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency,I convey our heartfelt condolences on this irreparable loss to all family members and close associates of the deceased and pray Heaven to accept the peaceful repose of his soul”,the message concluded.
