DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONALS: APRIL 4TH TOPIC: Expression of God’s kindness Scripture Reading: Deut. 31:8, psalm 118:6, Heb. 13:5b
God expresses His love for us in various ways which is summarized as follows: –
*(1). He pardons our sins:* The Bible says; “In those days, saith the Lord, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and they shall be none…for I will pardon them whom I reserve” Jer. 50:20. “And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities….” Jer. 33: 8.
*(2). He provides for our needs:* “Who provided for the ravens his food? When his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat. Job 38: 41,” But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” Phil. 4: 19.
*(3). He protects us in times of danger:* “Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler” Psalm 91: 3 – 4.
*(4). He answers our prayers* : “And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God; and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.” Acts 16: 25 – 26.
*(5). He gave us the gift of eternal life:* “For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3: 16). “All that the father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out” John 6: 37.
*(6). He keeps all promises:* “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man. that he should repent; hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Num. 23: 19. God said in his word that, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. God’s kindness is absolutely indescribable. Our life style should be expression of kindness of God. Practice kindness in your life. Kindness is a gift from God, provided by the Holy Spirit; therefore, nobody can say, I don’t know how to be kind. You can change your family through kindness, you can change the atmosphere where you work, and kindness changes everything.
Prayer:
Ask God to change your life to reflect the gift of kindness you have received from him. Lord God, let my lifestyle be an expression of God’s kindness.
