I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Dunkwu Nnamdi Chamberlain as my Deputy Chief of Staff, Legislative and Members’ Affairs.

The appointment takes immediate effect.

Speaker Abbas appoints Chamberlain as Deputy Chief of Staff, Legislative & Members’ Affairs

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas (PhD), has appointed Mr. Dunkwu Nnamdi Chamberlain as his Deputy Chief of Staff on Legislative and Members’ Affairs.

The new Deputy Chief of Staff to the Speaker on Legislative and Members’ Affairs holds a PhD in Business Administration and Management, Master’s of Science (Msc) in Business Administration and management, Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration and Management, Anambra State University.

He is a holder of Higher National Diploma (HND) on Business Administration and Management from the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu; Diploma in Sports Administration and Coaching from the Federation International De Netation (FINA).

Mr. Dunkwu Nnamdi Chamberlain, who hails from Delta State, has been a politician since the days of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the early 1990s. He is a loyal and committed member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) since the formation of the party in 2014. He was an aspirant for a House of Representatives seat from Delta State in 2010.

He comes on board with many years of experience. He was a one-time Special Adviser to the National Organizing Secretary of the APC. He was also the Director General of the First Term Members’ Forum of the 9th Assembly in 2019. Until his appointment, Mr. Chamberlain served as the Special Assistant on Members’ Affairs to the immediate past Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila.

Mr. Chamberlain is an astute sports administrator in Nigeria. He was the First Vice President, Nigeria Aquatic Federation; Chairman, Ebonyi State Swimming Association; Chairman, South-East Swimming Association; Executive Board Member, Nigeria Swimming Federation; Chairman, Planning and Youth Development Committee, Nigeria Swimming Federation, Federal Ministry of Sport and Social Development; Member, Nigeria Delegation to Athens Olympics Greece; Member, Nigeria Delegation to all Africa Games Algiers; Member, Nigeria Delegation to Beijing Olympics, China; Nigeria Leader of Delegation to Africa Swimming Championship in Johannesburg, South Africa.

He was also the Chairman, Ebony State Chess Association; Chairman, South-East Chess Association; First Vice President, Nigeria Chess Federation; Consultant to Nigeria University Games Association (NUGA); Member, Local Organizing Committee, National Sport Festival, Garden City Games, Port Harcourt, River State; Chairman, Contact and Liaison Sub-committee, National Sport Festival Garden City Games, Port Harcourt, River State; Member, Facilities and Venue Sub-committee Garden City Games, Port Harcourt, River State; Member, Marketing & Team Rivers sub-committee, Garden City Games, Port Harcourt, River State.

Mr Chamberlain was equally the Chairman, Delta State Gymnastics Association; Member, Team Delta State, National Sport Festival, Lagos; Member, Nigeria Aquatic Federation, National Sport Commission Abuja; Chairman, Marketing Committee Nigeria Aquatic Federation; Vice President, Sport For All in Nigeria. (Nigeria Olympic Committee, NOC); Sponsor, Chamberlain Annual Football Cup, Ute-Okpu, Ika North East LGA, Delta State.

On the political scene, Mr. Dunkwu Nnamdi Chamberlain was a one-time Secretary, All Progressive Congress (APC) Bauchi South Senatorial Bye Election Primary/Screening Committee; Member, Ondo State National/State Assembly Primary Election Committee, among many others.
