DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONAL: MARCH 9 Topic: WAITING ON GOD. (2) Scriptures; Micah 7:7; Psalm 27: 14; 37: 7
Waiting is hard work, and I don’t know anyone who likes to wait. It’s especially difficult when there is no guarantee that our waiting will ever end in this lifetime. Desires we long for, prayers we’ve been praying, and news we’re waiting to hear can tempt us to be impatient, discouraged, and worrisome and even wonder if God cares. On the other hand, waiting can cultivate good fruits in our lives such as; patience, perseverance, and endurance.
As a man, you want to fix things – your problems, relationship, career etc. But we have to be reminded that we cannot fix anything for ourselves without the help of God. (John 15: 5) “…for without me ye can do nothing.”Waiting on God requires us to allow Him to do His work. We cannot speed up the process for Him.
As a pastor, I may have the tendencies to speed up the growth process of the church. I see many people hurting, I see many people in needs, and I’m like; God why? Why not do it now? Why not bring it to pass today? Habakkuk 2: 1 – 3, the Prophet was asking similar question and God replied him saying: “…..though it delays, wait for it, it will certainly come and not be late.” God can never be late; those who wait for Him will never be put to shame.No matter how urgent you may want God to intervene in your issues, let us continue to wait for God’s time. When His time is due, He will show forth for you. Be assured that you will never be disappointed waiting on God; rather, He will fill your mouth with laughter and make you a reference point to your generation.
PRAYER POINTS:
(1) Help me to surrender to your will daily. Even though it is difficult to wait, grant me the grace to wait for you oh God.
(2) Remove worries and anxieties far away from me; I want to develop good fruits of patience and perseverance in me as I wait for your time.
CONFESSION:
My God cannot be late; I want to allow you to do your work in me. I refuse to be hasty, I will wait for You.
