HOPE DEVOTIONAL: JUNE 11 THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM IN US (2) SCRIPTURES: ISAIAH 11: 1 – 2; 1 King 3: 7- 10; Luke 2: 46 – 47
Yesterday’s devotional gave a rundown description of what the Spirit of Wisdom given by God does to man. We have earthly or secular wisdoms, but the most powerful wisdom is that which is attained from God. The Bible has said that: “Every good and perfect gift comes from above…” (1 Chro. 16: 11 – 12). This includes wisdom too!* In this devotional, we will review how this Spirit of Wisdom evidenced in Jesus Christ as Isaiah 11: 1 – 2 says. Reviewing the Spirit of Wisdom upon Jesus Christ will give us the importance of this wisdom. The Spirit of Wisdom that came upon Jesus made Him the ultimate duplicate of God’s Wisdom.
Jesus worked and ministered with spectacular wisdom which the Bible attested to in some passages. His being filled with wisdom and grace of God was seen by people He ministered to (Luke 2: 40). At age 12, He taught with supper wisdom, answering questions from the elders in the Temple of Jerusalem with scriptural accuracies (Luke 2: 46 – 47). The Bible clearly said Jesus Christ grew in wisdom and stature because the Spirit of God was upon Him (Luke 2: 51 – 52). With the Spirit of wisdom in us, we can maneuver freely any intrigue from human being seeking to make us fall into trouble. With the Spirit of wisdom on Jesus, He answered the questions threw at Him by the Pharisees and the Sadducees about who to pay tax to with amazing wisdom (Matt. 22: 17 – 21). He employed the same wisdom in tackling the issue of the purported woman caught in adultery (John 8: 10 – 11).
The advantages of Wisdom in the Spirit of God on Christians will never be over stated. We Christians need Spirit of Wisdom to discern and handle all matters of life, differently and perfectly than how the worldly people do. With this wisdom, we can win favour in God and with people as Jesus won (Luke 1: 8; 2: 52). The Spirit of Wisdom will enable us answer all question that even the most learned person in the world will be dumbfounded as can be seen with Jesus (Matt. 13: 54; Mark 6: 2). Leaders in Governments always fear people of God who are filled with Spirit of Wisdom. Upon all the hate King Saul had on David, the Bible says that King Saul feared David for the wisdom David possessed (1 Sam. 18: 14 – 15, 29 – 30). King David became an architect when the Spirit of Wisdom came upon him as he planned the design of the Temple he wished to build for God (1 Chro. 28: 11 – 21).
As Christians, we need Spirit of Wisdom as he enables us do so many things to the glory of God. We will not only be wonderful preachers, teachers, prophets, evangelist, prayer warriors etc., but professionals in fields we do not go to learn things of, curtsy of Spirit of Wisdom. God can send His Spirit on people to become artisans in building His Temples or things which will promote His work on earth. During Moses time, God’s Spirit of Wisdom entered into Bezalel from Judah and Oholiab from Dan for the designs and works of the Tabernacle (Exod. 31: 1 – 6). The Beloveth, let us aspire to receiving this Spirit of Wisdom. We will excel in all things and become independent of world infiltrations. Have a blessed day today!
PRAYER:
LORD JESUS, send upon me the Spirit of Wisdom. There are so many intricate issues that earthly wisdom will fail me to handle.
POSITIVE DECLARATION
