Recent criticisms about the presidential Cadillac Escalade presumed to be for official domestic use have exposed a glaring lack of understanding about governmental workings, particularly in presidential democracies. Let’s set the record straight!

– Presidents worldwide, especially in presidential democracies, have the right to choose their official vehicles based on personal taste, configuration, security considerations, and availability.

– In some cases, vehicles may be gifts, donations, or temporary loans for specific occasions.

– Wealthy presidents, like PBAT, may have owned luxury vehicles before taking office and might prefer to use them.

– The presidency is a dignified office that demands respect and differentiation from lower offices, including access to sophisticated transportation like presidential jets and yachts.
