DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONALS: OCTOBER 10 KNOW THE WORK OF THE WICKED (3) SCRIPTURE: PROVERBS 11: 18 – 19
Readers of the devotional yesterday will by today, get more insights on the “works of the wicked”. Points revealed yesterday appeared simple to be accepted for wicked acts. But they are Biblically. If you borrowed and never pay back you are wicked, because you do not only run down the borrower’s business but have made him or her to lose confidence on others who might go to borrow. Deception promotes lies and falsehood. Deception causes one to disobey God, especially that which targeted at making Christians to commit sins. Satan did this to Adam and Eve through the serpent who came to deceptively adulterated the law not to eat the forbidden fruit to them in Gen. 3: 1 – 6).
We must know today that creating wealth for selves while the poor are left out of benefiting the wealth is work of the wicked as puts down in Jeremiah 5: 27.
We are in the world today that people are getting highly prosperous, becoming great and blowing up in riches forgetting the fatherless and the less privileged people. The Bible judged these actions as “surpassing the wicked”; meaning the sin is higher than wickedness. Hear the Bible: “Among my people are wicked men who lie in wait like men who snares birds and like those set traps to catch men. Like cages full of birds, their houses are full of deceit; they have become rich and powerful and have grown fat and sleek. Their evil deeds have no limit; they do not plead the case of the fatherless to win it, they do not defend the right of the poor” (Jer. 5: 26 – 28 NIV). We can imagine numbers of people and nations with these attitudes. God regard them as those working the work of the wicked!
If we Apply our understanding on Jeremiah 5: 26 – 28 we will know why those enriching themselves while forgetting the less privileged are wicked. Their actions have produced material and financial thieveries in the society. The poor ones on seeing the positions of these people concluded that stealing to become rich is a virtue, so they devised means of practicing criminalities. The youths who see these people growing large, fat and powerful through deceptions are joining them; learning their acts of wickedness. Their present great desires to become rich and wealthy overnight through ritual sacrifices were rooted in the conclusion of “if can’t beat them, you have to join them”. The beloved, we Christians living in this present dispensation have much works to do so as to dissuade people from embracing the works of wickedness. God says in Jeremiah 5: 29 that He will visit and punish anyone or any nation being this wicked!
PRAYER:
JEHOVAH my Father, give me the grace to preach this truth to the world so as to save her from all works of the wicked as stated in these devotionals for the past three days now in the name of Jesus Christ.
