DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONALS: DECEMBER 7 GOD HAS REGARD FOR YOU (1) SCRITPURE: PSALM 144: 3
Having a good knowledge of who you are is key to living in positive life against that of negative mindset. This is talking of understanding absolutely the person you are by yourself. Some of us human beings deal with ourselves from negative perception of selves always. We in this group see ourselves as hated by neighbours, rejected by God and marked out by evil forces for continuous attacks. Other groups of people are those who have concluded that God has no knowledge of them in this world. They either apply their minds on evil practices as revenge mission against God, or take themselves to belong to inferior beings. This formation of mind never allows them to be happy with those around them or seeing any need to be happy with God.
It will be exiting to know that God never loses knowledge of those who believe in Him and trust Him as their Father in heaven and on the earth. That we see ourselves being subjected to the blows of misfortune has not mean God does not know us; that is, taking knowledge of our existence in the world. Against all the oppressive conditions King David faced from King Saul and those loyal to King Saul, he knew that God takes knowledge of an ordinary man. He pointed it out in the passage above. By rhetoric question King David said: “Lord, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him, or a son of man, that thou makest account of him?” One modern English Bible puts it this ways: “O lord, what are human beings that you should notice them, mere mortals that you should think about them?” (Psa. 144: 3 NLT).
This should be a good news to all readers of this devotional. No matter how you think low of yourself, God takes notice of you. He thinks about you every second. Your personal negative perception about your life got nothing to do with God. His good plans for you will ever come when His set time for you is due. It will be an unrealistic conclusion to believe that God keeps you from January till December every year for nothing. Any rational Christian should be full of positive hope and active faith to praise God in December month every year instead of concluding that December is one of the month of bad omen for the living. The urge in this devotional to you is agreeing that God has regard for you and still think of you for good. Please, be thankful to God and His Son Jesus Christ today.
PRAYER:
Pray and give thanks to God for bringing you into the month of December. Ask Him to grant you benefits of those He has regards of by bringing you the last blessings of the year.
