WEEKLY HOPE DEVOTIONAL: JANUARY WEEK 2 BRINGING BACK INTEGRITY (1) SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 28: 5 – 6

Spread the love

We have been posting information since January 1 about publishing our devotionals by weekly bases this year. The devotionals will be dealing with “Bringing Back Integrity” in series. By inspirations, integrity has been discovered one of the major hubs that control human behaviours and societal values. Integrity seems to be that metrics that binds up political, economic, social and religious activities positively anywhere in the world. This makes defining integrity a very had tax to all fabrics of life and society. Business successes, political values and religious balances are held together by integrity. Wherever integrity is grossly disregarded anarchy and disaster surfaces.

The Great Preacher in the Bible says that “Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand it completely” (Prov. 28: 5 ESV). By literal explanation, we can say justice can never be understood by those practicing evil or wickedness. It is only those who follow the Lord God that understand how to walk through justice. The Preacher went on to say that “Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways” (Prov. 28: 6 ESV). We can make out a theory here that could sound like this: “Seeking the way of the Lord always produces a man of justice and integrity.”

We can see these days that injustices are on the increase as well as genuine integrity. The people full of wickedness do neither seek from God how to promote justices nor deal with people in integrity. The world is been drenched in clueless governments, self-centered business men and women and hypocritical religious leaders because many have abandoned practicing integrity as it ought to be and how it was in the early days of the world. It is like if every human being pursues integrity the world will feel better.

As seen in Prov. 28: 6, a poor individual with integrity gives joy to the people he/she leads than a crooked or wicked person. This devotional is going to establish an opinion that bringing back integrity into the world system can restore the world back to the expected peace and love among human beings in the near future. Next devotional will dwell on explanations on integrity for better understanding by people of many schools of thought, by the grace of God. Please come along with us into the next discussion.

PRAYER:

Blessed Father, open the physical and spiritual eyes of every one who read the devotional this week to understand what justice and integrity will mean to them in Jesus name.
