FULANI ATTACK: Ado Local Government Council Chairman Commiserates with Gunshot Victims in Otukpo, Demands Justice
The Chairman of Ado Local Government Council, Hon. Engr. Oche Sunday Oche, yesterday, visited a victim of a recent gunshot incident in Asa Otukpo, expressing deep sympathy and demanding swift justice. The incident resulted in the death of Master Victor Odeh Orinya and injuries to Mr. Enyigwe Emmanuel Essah, both from Apa-Agila in Ado Local Government Area, but residing in Otukpo.
The attack occurred as the victims returned home from collecting water. Gunmen, after learning the victims were from Agila, opened fire, killing Master Orinya instantly. Mr. Essah is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.
Engr. Oche visited the injured Mr. Essah in the hospital, speaking with medical staff to ensure he receives the best possible care. He also offered condolences to the family of the deceased. The Chairman stressed the significant contributions of Agila and Ado residents to the development of Otukpo and questioned the motivation behind the unprovoked attack by enemies of Otukpo. He condemned the profiling and intimidation that led to the violence.
Engr. Oche pledged to collaborate with his counterpart in Otukpo Local Government to apprehend the perpetrators and prevent further incidents. He urged all residents of Ado Local Government Area to remain vigilant, reporting any suspicious activity to the authorities. “We must work together to ensure the safety of our people,” he stated. He also reassured the community that investigations are underway to bring the perpetrators to justice.
