Governor Nwifuru Grants Amnesty To Detainees Of Effium/Ezza-Effium Crises

The Ebonyi State Government under Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwiguru has said it will grant amnesty and rehabilitate the one hundred and eight(108) war detainees from the war torn Effium autonomous community in Ohaukwu local government area of Ebonyi State.

It would be recalled that at the wake of the war in January 2021 some youths were arrested from the community and has been in detention for four years, disconnecting from their wives, and kits and kins.

Meanwhile, the Ebonyi State Governor will today at the Nigeria Correctional Service Headquarters declare amnesty and rehabilitation programme for the detainees.

It would be recalled that the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Ebonyi State, Ben Odoh has ordered the presiding Magistrate Lynda Ogodo to discharge 180 war detainees from the Abakaliki Correctional Centre.
