2027: EKET SENATORIAL DISTRICT AND UYO FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY THE HARDEST HIT IN POOR REPRESENTATION
… Pastor Umo Eno to the rescue…
Micheal Joseph Okon -Ituk Mbang, Uruan.
In the past 48 hours we’ve been focusing on the poor and ineffective representation of Akwa Ibom State elected representatives both at the State and national level. Some AkwaIbomites have made bold statements which shows that the feelings are mutual across the State against inefficient and sustainable representation.
Akwa Ibomites are expressing frustration with their elected representatives, citing poor performance and lack of impact in their communities. The sentiment is that politicians often prioritize party loyalty over constituent needs, leading to ineffective representation.
Based on the poor performances of majority of our representatives AkwaIbomites are wondering how life would have been without the humane leadership of Pastor umo Eno that has touched lives beyond party and ethnic divides.
Eket Senatorial district and Uyo Federal constituency seems to be the hardest hit from the sentiments expressed so far even as it seems that less that 5% of elected representatives in general across Akwa Ibom State have lived up to the expectations of the peoples mandate.
Here are some of the sentiments from AkwaIbomites on poor representation:
“Elected representatives should take cue from what their colleagues from other states are doing.” – Jerry Ekwere
Jerry Ekwere’s statement reflects a growing sentiment among Akwa Ibomites that their elected representatives are not performing up to par. The quote suggests that there are better examples of effective leadership in other states, and that Akwa Ibom’s representatives should take note and improve their own performance. This sentiment is driven by a desire for better governance and a sense of frustration with the current state of affairs.
“Parallel voting is always the issue in Akwa Ibom State… people will still vote for the person, even if they’re a criminal, stingy, or greedy.” – Isaac Umoiyak
Isaac Umoiyak’s quote highlights the issue of parallel voting in Akwa Ibom State, where voters tend to prioritize party loyalty over the character and performance of individual candidates. This sentiment suggests that voters are aware of the flaws in the system and are frustrated with the lack of accountability among elected representatives. The quote also implies that voters are willing to overlook significant flaws in a candidate’s character if they are from the dominant party.
“I will not vote for any party comes 2027, but selected individuals… I will vote for the good ones, regardless of party affiliation.” – Isaac Umoiyak
Isaac Umoiyak’s statement reflects a growing trend among Akwa Ibomites to prioritize individual performance over party loyalty. The quote suggests that voters are becoming increasingly disillusioned with the traditional party system and are instead looking for candidates who demonstrate integrity, competence, and a commitment to serving their constituents. This sentiment is driven by a desire for more effective and accountable governance.
“Uyo federal constituency and poor representation are 5 and 6”- Unyime Henry
Unyime Henry’s quote highlights the issue of poor representation in Uyo federal constituency. The statement suggests that the constituency is being poorly served by its elected representatives, and that this is a major concern for voters. The quote implies that voters are aware of the impact that poor representation can have on their lives and are demanding better from their elected officials.
“That is why it is pertinent for us in ESD to come up with a replacement come 2027 if our representatives don’t RISE UP and create impact as other representatives are doing…. Two years have passed and all their promises across wards are yet to be fulfilled.” – Ibanga Ibanga
Ibanga Ibanga’s quote reflects a growing sense of frustration among voters from Eket Senatorial district ESD with the lack of progress and impact from their elected representatives. The statement suggests that voters are holding their representatives accountable for their campaign promises and are demanding tangible results. The quote implies that voters are willing to consider alternative candidates if their current representatives fail to deliver.
“You’ve spoken the minds of many, it’s time for our elective representatives to step up.”- Gideon Udofia
Gideon Udofia’s statement reflects a sense of solidarity among Akwa Ibomites who are calling for better representation. The statement suggests that there is a growing consensus among voters that their elected representatives need to do more to serve their constituents. The quote implies that voters are demanding a higher level of performance from their elected officials and are willing to hold them accountable.
“Akwa Ibom State politicians are experts in going into politically induced coma to avoid touching lives till few months to election then they wake from coma to share rice and peanuts in ward tours with another round of campaign lies” – Micheal Joseph Okon
The quote above highlights the issue of politicians in Akwa Ibom State who only become active during election season, making promises and distributing handouts in an attempt to win votes. The statement suggests that voters are aware of this tactic and are frustrated with the lack of genuine engagement from their elected representatives. The quote implies that voters are demanding more substance and less rhetoric from their politicians.
Dear AkwaIbomites join conversation and have your say. Keeping quiet will only embolden the system to continue foisting nonchalant representatives on you. The future is not what it used to be. Speak up fearlessly and challenge insensitive representation, let’s not reinforce failures come 2027.
