Spread the love

In the second edition of this series we learned the necessity of the delegated Power of the Son. That Jesus knew the importance the power He handed over to the Disciples, and then through the Holy Spirit to the Christians in all churches is._ The evidence of the delegated Power of Jesus is expected to dominate the lives of Christians. Using the power over demonic kingdoms, healing the sick and the diseased as well as using the power to deliver people, under satanic spells ought to be the main activities of Christians. This devotional is specifically dealing with JESUS’ DELEGATED POWER IN THE CHURCH.

Apart from individual Christians exhibiting Jesus’ delegated power and authority, the churches are to see themselves as tap roots of the power and authority of Jesus Christ. Apostle Paul said the Church is Jesus’ body and also the fullness of Jesus (Eph. 1: 22 – 23). This informs the mind that if the church is Jesus’ body, then His Power and authority dwells with the church in its fullness. The church here means all the people meeting together to worship God. We must collectively allow ourselves experience these powers and give them out. Christians are to know that our divided postures are reasons for the seemly defeat the church is suffering these days. Jesus said at a time that “a kingdom divided against itself will not stand.” There is no problem if churches exist denominationally. The biggest problem in the hands of Christians is their vivid divisions.

The church of the Acts of Apostles was very influential and impactful because of her unity. We see how all the members worked together, had common ground for effective prayers as well as taking one another’s problems as all-inclusive problems. We must rebuild the church to become a community of one family where all will be committed to helping one another, love one another and fellowship with one another. The present church members must allow Jesus delegated power on the bodies of Christ powerful. All Christian churches, in line with this devotional, are to know the following four facts about churches manifesting incomparable great power of Jesus:
1. For Jesus’ incomparable great power to be experienced in churches, all the members must work together (Acts 5: 12). This power is not for lone-ranger churches but for all the churches relating as one.

2. The church that does not have committed members who work together for a common purpose will not experience this incomparable great power flowing from Jesus Christ.

3. A church or community of Christians who lack commitment to each other – loving each other, praying for each other and worshipping together will become spiritually impotent and completely powerless.

4. Churches with members working isolatedly, will not experience the delegated incomparable power of Jesus regardless of large size or populations.

The beloved, this devotional closes with injunction to all Christians to close the gap of separations between denominations and teach their members to work as one body and love. Our doctrine of faith, believe and fellowship must not be isolatedly taught on denominational benefits. We members of different churches are to see ourselves as carriers of one mandate.

PRAYERS:

1. Pray that Christian bodies realize importance of unity so as to work together in order for Christ’s delegated power for the church to show in the churches in Jesus name.

2. 2. Jehovah my Father, enable me to create unity amongst Christians so as to be able to flow in the delegated powers of our Lord Jesus Christ.

POSITIVE CONFESSION:

O Lord God, I see myself as from today a binding force to create new and loving Christian family. Hallelujah.
