ACHEGA DAY: OJEMA CALLS ON PEOPLE OF APA/AGATU TO UNITE FOR PEACE, SECURITY AND DEVELOPMENT OF THEIR LAND

The Member representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on National Inland Waterways, Chief. Hon. Pst Ojotu Ojema FESMI, has called on the good people of Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency to unite among themselves for Peace, Security and Development of their land.

Chief Ojema made this call on Saturday, April 19, 2025 while delivering his Keynote Speech at this year’s Achega Day Celebration, which took place at the Community Primary School Play field Ogwule-Kaduna, Agatu LGA.

“Let me first of all thank God for making it possible for this important occasion to be held, it wouldn’t have been possible without God’s permission, showing that God truly loves the good people of Achega”.

Making reference to the story of Adam and Eve in Genesis 3:14-15, where human error has brought suffering and shattered the unity in humanity, Ojema called on the people to live a Godly life, let go off hatred and embrace Love in order to foster unity among themselves for Peace, security and progress of their land.

“The biggest factor militating against the rapid development of any Society is lack of Unity among the people. The question we must ask ourselves, we the Agatu people is that, are we united and living in peace with one another?. The answer is NO”

“For Unity of purpose among ourselves which will enhance peace and development of our land, we must jettison hatred, rumour mongery, every other thing that can cause Disunity and promote anything that will promote Love and Unity among us so that, our land can witness Peace, Tranquility and rapid Growth”. Ojema said

The Aboh-OcheK’Idoma in a report by his Media Aide, Ekani Olikita appreciated the Och’Achega, HRH. Capt Ondachi Dominic (rtd) and his subjects for their roles in stability of Achega communities, the organizers of the befitting and glamorous occasion, his friend, Pharmacist Andy Akwubo, other prominent sons and daughters of Achega who made the occasion a reality.

Responding, the Och’Achega, HRH Chief Capt. Ondachi Dominic, thanked Chief Ojema for personally attending the occasion as he gave his loyal blessings to Ojema and wished him unfettered successes.

In their separate speeches on behalf of Achega, Chairman of the occasion, Dr Moses Daniel, Pharmacist Andy Akwuba and Col Isah Odagbali (rtd), thanked Hon Ojema for gracing the Achega Day Celebration, appreciating the good work he is doing and assuring him of the total support of their community always.

Shortly after the occasion, the Federal Lawmaker paid a Condolence visit to one of his political allies, Comr Usman Echono ( aka Ochacho) in Obagaji, to commiserate with him over the passing unto glory of his uncle, Ishaku Echono. Ojema prayed God to give Ochacho and members of the deceased’s bereaved family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

Comr Ochacho in his response on behalf of the family, thanked Ojema for the visit and for giving Federal appointments to several persons in Apa/Agatu, including his friend, wishing him greater achievements ahead.

Earlier in the day, the Performing and Award-winning Federal Lawmaker attended the wedding of Patience Oigocho and Friday Apeh at Methodist Church Obagaji. He later graced the Wedding Reception in honour of Sunday & Deborah in Ogwule-Ugbokpo and Helen & Paul in Enicha.

Highlight of the Day’s activities was the presentation of award of Leadership Excellence to Chief Ojema for his contribution to growth of Education, empowerment of students, youths and Humanity in the Federal Constituency.

Responding after receiving the award, Chief Ojema who was full of happiness said, he dedicated the award to the Unity of Achega, Agbaduma, Adogoji and the entire people of Agatu land.

Finally, Chief Ojema shocked some youths during Achega Day Celebration as he presented Federal Job Appointment Letters to them without their prior knowledge.

Responding, one of the Beneficiaries who couldn’t hide his joy as he wept profusely, thanked Ojema for the appointment despite knowing him few months ago, advising Apa/Agatu youths against double Loyalty which is common among youths of today, a common practice which usually hinders successes.
