KHITUK ASSEIT CULTURAL FESTIVAL: Hon. Daniel Amos, Engr. Joseph Chiroma Conferred Kussom’s Traditional Title

The dual of Honourable Member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency (Chairman, House Committee on House Services) in the 10th House of Representatives, Hon. Daniel Amos and the formal General Manager P.C, TCN, Abuja, Engr. Joseph Almajiri Chiroma bagged traditional title of the Kussom (ASSEIT) in Southern Kaduna.
The dual were honoured by the Village Head of Kussom Asseit at the 2025 annual cultural festival celebration for their exceptional performance and contribution to the development of the Kussom Asseit people and community.
The Village Head of Kussom Asseit, Chief Gideon Maigari while conferring Hon. Daniel Amos with the Bena Asseit ( Taimako Kussom) and Engr. Joseph Almajiri Chiroma as the Gheekhishik Asseit (Chigaba Kussom) charged the people on the important of time, drawing from the Biblical injunction in Ecclesiastes 3:1-3.
Chief Gideon Maigari salutes the efforts of persons whose contribution has added positively to the development of Kussom community.
” I must not forget to mention some of the key persons who have contributed positively towards the development of Kussom community: Hon. Daniel Amos (Member representing Jema’a and Sanga federal constituency), Engr. Joseph Almajiri Chiroma (Former TCN GM, Hasken Southern Kaduna Mairuwa), Hon. Ali Kalat ( Minority Leader, Kaduna State House of Assembly), Hon. Habila Yohana ( The Toh-Toh Asseit), Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara ( Chairman Jema’a Local Government), All the Kussom sons and daughters both home and abroad.
Chief Gideon further appeal to the dignitaries especially the politicians at the annual cultural celebration to come to the community aid by solving the immediate needs of Kussom Asseit community ranging from repair of primary school damaged structure, building of halls, library, laboratories in the secondary school, registration and approval of WAEC/NECO centre, granting of scholarship to their youth, road construction/maintenance and job creation for the youths of the community.
Speaking on the significant of the annual cultural festival, the Special Guest of Honour, the Distinguished Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Barr. Sunday Marshall Katung who is represented at the festival by his SLA/Chief of Staff, Hon. Wilson Iliya Yange while congratulating the community especially the organizer of the festival says the important of the cultural festival can not be over emphasis as it engender peace and unity.

Similarly, the chairman of the occasion, Hon. Daniel ( Member representing Jema’a Sanga Federal Constituency) in his remark congratulate the people of Kussom Asseit, thank the organizer of the festival and enjoined guest to explore the cultural heritage of the Kussom Asseit community.
At a time when the cultural heritage of many community are going into extinction, the significant of cultural festival as this can not be over emphasis, being a tool for passing of same to another generation.
The annual cultural festival featured display of their rich cultural heritage, performance of cultural dances from different community, groups, traditional foods.
