Ado Local Government Chairman Inspects Dilapidated Government Facilities in Igumale, Pledges Reconstruction
Engr. Sunny Oche, the Chairman of Ado Local Government, conducted a working tour of severely neglected government facilities in Igumale’s Camp One area. The inspection, which included the VIP Lounge, Chairman’s Lodge, Vice Chairman’s Lodge, Governor’s Lodge, and surrounding roads, aimed to assess the extent of damage caused by years of abandonment and inform a comprehensive redevelopment plan.
Accompanied by the Leader of the Ado Legislative House, Hon. Agbo Adadu; the Majority Leader, Hon. Barr. Francis Ede Ojoko; Council Recorder, Mr. Gowon Obande; Prince Omoi Oband; Architect Agbo Adai; and a team of civil engineers, Engr. Oche expressed concern over the state of disrepair. The once vibrant Camp One, a hub of government activity, is now overgrown with vegetation, highlighting the urgent need for intervention.
“The current state of these facilities and roads is unacceptable,” stated Engr. Oche. “This inspection underscores the immediate need for reconstruction and the implementation of a robust preventative maintenance program to prevent future dilapidation.”
Architect Agbo Adai has been appointed to oversee a thorough assessment of the streets and overall township road layout. Engr. Oche reiterated his commitment to the previously announced plan to reconstruct Igumale’s roads to reflect its status as the Local Government Headquarters.
A comprehensive plan is underway, outlining repair and reconstruction timelines including resource requirements (materials, labor, and cost estimates). The Chairman is committed to ensuring a realistic and achievable plan, minimizing potential delays. The focus is on a swift and efficient process that will restore the functionality and dignity of these critical government facilities.
