PETROLEUM ENGINEERS’ CONFERENCE COMMENCES IN LAGOS AUGUST 2

The Society of Petroleum Engineers SPE, Nigeria Council will commence her Annual International Conference and Exhibition, tagged: SPENAICE 2025 today August 2nd, 2025.

SPENAICE, an annual assemblage of experts and innovators in the energy sector also serves a veritable platform for innovation, policy dialogue, professional excellence and exhibition among others.

A statement e-signed by Dr Amina Danmidanmi, who is the Chairman, Society of Petroleum Engineers, Nigeria Council,  explained that the high profile event with the expected attendance of 4,000 participants will hold between 2nd to 6th August.

According to the statement, the event, with the theme: “Building a Sustainable Energy Future: Leveraging Technology Supply Chain, Human Resources and Policy” will feature “two high-level leadership panel sessions, youth and family programs, technical courses and social engagements even as it has been programmed to attract over 80 exhibiting companies showcasing cutting-age solutions.

The statement further  explained that “Nigeria produces around 1.75 million barrels per day of crude oil and condensates; the national target is to grow to 2.7 mbpd by 2030, while maximizing our 209 trillion cubic feet of gas reserves as the transition fuel of choice.”

Dr Danmidanmi added that “From an SPE perspective, achieving these targets will require enhanced field recovery, gas monetisation, infrastructure reliability and pipeline security. SPENAICE 2025 will showcase technical insights and practical solutions that support Nigeria’s energy security and economic growth goals.”

On industry divestment, Danmidanmi averred that “Over the years, Nigeria has witnessed historic divestments by international oil companies from onshore and shallow water assets…”
He stressed that this year’s edition of the conference is designed to stand apart from every previous one, adding that SPENAICE 2025 is where Nigeria’s energy past meets it’s future – and solutions move from conversation to action.”
