CDS Musa Reassures Katsina Lawmakers of Renewed Military Drive Against Insecurity

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has reaffirmed the military’s unwavering commitment to tackling insecurity in Katsina State and across Nigeria.

General Musa gave the assurance on Friday when he received a delegation of National Assembly members from Katsina State led by Senator Abdulazeez Musa Yar’Adua, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army. at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja.

During the meeting, the legislators commended the Armed Forces of Nigeria for its sacrifices in safeguarding lives and property, while paying tribute to troops who have fallen in the line of duty. They described the sacrifices of the soldiers as “heroic and invaluable.”

The delegation also briefed the CDS on the current security situation in Katsina, calling for more troop deployment and additional military assets to combat emerging threats in the state.
General Musa welcomed the lawmakers’ concerns and pledged continued collaboration with the National Assembly to strengthen security operations nationwide.

He revealed that the Armed Forces have introduced new tactics and strategies to respond more effectively to evolving challenges, stressing that the ultimate goal is restoring peace and stability across the country.

The visit, according to a statement signed by Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, Director Defence Information, underscores the shared resolve of the Armed Forces and the National Assembly to protect Nigerians from insecurity and ensure lasting safety in Katsina and beyond.
