The National Assembly has postponed its resumption of plenary activities earlier scheduled for Tuesday, September 23, 2025, to a new date—Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
In a statement issued on Monday by the Clerk to the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana, Esq., the decision was directed by the presiding officers of both Chambers.
“I am directed by the presiding officers of both Chambers of the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to inform all members of the National Assembly and the general public that the resumption date of the National Assembly earlier scheduled for Tuesday 23rd September 2025 is postponed to Tuesday 7th October 2025,” the statement read.
The Clerk, however, clarified that the change does not affect other legislative engagements. “Committee activities continue,” he noted.
Lawmakers and the public were urged to adjust their schedules accordingly. “All Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members are requested to take note of the new date and adjust their schedules accordingly,” Ogunlana emphasized.
The National Assembly further expressed regrets over any disruptions the adjustment may cause. “Any inconvenience caused by this rescheduling is deeply regretted,” the statement concluded.
