CP SHOGUNLE HOSTS ANAMBRA SECURITY SERVICE COMMANDERS TO HARMONIZE OPERATIONAL PLANS AHEAD OF NOVEMBER 8TH GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION

The Commissioner of Police in charge of the Anambra State Governorship Election, CP Abayomi Shogunle, PhD, fsi today 5th November 2025 hosts heads of all security agencies in the state in a strategic security meeting aimed at harmonizing and strengthening the already established operational structures for the forthcoming November 8th, 2025, Governorship Election.
The meeting, held at the State Police Command Headquarters, Awka, brought together Service Commanders from the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Department of State Services, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs, Federal Road Safety Corps, and NDLEA.
The Commissioner of Police reiterated the collective commitment of the security agencies towards ensuring a peaceful, credible, and violence-free election. He emphasized the need for coordination and synergy, real-time intelligence sharing, joint patrols, and professional conduct of personnel before, during, and after the election.
The Service Commanders, in their separate remarks, pledged full cooperation and reaffirmed their readiness to maintain law and order, safeguard voters, election officials, materials, and critical national infrastructure across the state.
The CP is assuring residents and political actors that the security agencies have jointly reviewed flashpoints, mapped out deployment strategies, and designed response mechanisms to swiftly address any breach of peace.
The security agencies collectively call on the electorate to remain law-abiding, shun violence, and participate in the election without fear of intimidation. Political parties and candidates are equally urged to play by the rules and discourage their supporters from acts capable of disrupting the peace.
The Anambra State Security Architecture remains resolute and united in ensuring that the will of the people through the ballot prevails. To this end, residents are encouraged to report suspicious persons and unusual movement they may observe to the nearest Police Station or through to the Command Emergency number 112 or call 07039194332 for prompt response.
