DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONAL: DECEMBER 1 THERE IS EVERY REASON TO PRAISE GOD SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 29: 35

Spread the love

It is a thing of fun to hear some people saying there is no reason for them to give God praises. Most people feel that God should have done one remarkable thing for them before giving Him praise. Leah got married to Jacob by her father’s intrigue. She was not Jacob’s best choice. Yet God gave her three sons leaving Rachel barren. It was when she gave birth to the fourth son that she said “…now will I praise the Lord!” Many of us human beings are like Leah. We actually did nothing to attract God’s favour and blessings. Yet He gives us free protections, foods, security etc. In all these, we expect a spectacular or powerful breakthrough before we praise Him. Living is unpredictable that surviving from morning till night calls for giving God special thanks and praise. We often look away from God’s great work in giving us air free, the costliest thing on the earth. God provided two very essential things, air and water, for us. We always look away from these essential gifts, and refuse to praise God.

Who keeps your life all through January till this December when someone close to you was to cross a street and run over by vehicle? Is there no sense to praise God for being alive for eleven months without serious physical ailment or incurring deformed part of your body? There are many who entered the year in January but have had their legs or hands amputated. But here you are entering the month of December with good health and completed body. A rationale mind is grateful to God twenty-four hours every day. The beloved, God wants us to appreciate Him in Thanksgiving and praise for whatever He does for us.

As you and I step into the first day of the month of December, we should be willing enough to put every supposed failures, unaccomplished proposals or projects, every disappointment from men and organizations on us, away from our subconsciousnesses and go down on our kneels giving God praise. Let us begin counting our blessings from things we think are minors and see how cheerfully and effortlessly God made us got them. Let us in a joyful heart begin to lift up our hands to heaven and say “Thank you Father. You are too much for us.” We all actually have every reason to praise God all through this month of December.

PRAYER:

BLESSED FATHER, you ate too kind, too loving, too merciful to me. I have nothing to five you in exchange of your wonderful gestures to me. I say a big THANK YOU today in Jesus name.
