The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ebonyi State on Infrastructure Maintenance, Hon. Ben Nwovu has assert that the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State has initiated and completed numerous projects which will be commissioned before May 29th, 2026.

Hon. Ben Nwovu, who made the assertion during a chat with journalists in Abakaliki, disclosed that Governor Francis Nwifuru has embarked on critical and life touching projects, which has benefited the people of Ebonyi State massively.

He explained that Governor Francis Nwifuru has made remarkable achievements in the areas of human capital development, education, infrastructure, and with particular reference to the Vanco Tunnel and Flyover, which he said has attained advanced level.

He said, “So many infrastructure developments have taken place in this administration. Too many, especially the tunnel at Vanco and more than four flyovers going on. I cannot mention all because it’s versatile everywhere. Both at the senatorial zones. The Governor is a man that believes not just kilometres, but multi-kilometres.

He said the two-kilometre roads and duplexes built by Governor Francis Nwifuru, the opening of new roads and the rehabilitation of roads across the state are some of the projects embarked upon by the governor.

“So you talk of two-kilometre roads. In all the communities of Ebonyi State, where two-kilometre roads are done for the traditional ruler , you talk of the duplex, not just duplex, but a very complex duplexes for all traditional rulers, in all the communities of Ebonyi State. Put together, you know that much has been done”, he said.

He added, “And when you think of new roads, there are new roads that have been rehabilitated in the state. If you go to Hatchery Road, you see so many of them. And if you go to Eke-aba axis, all those old routes have been rehabilitated and reconstructed. And when you go there, you see that there is a flagship route here in the town. And so many others are in place”, he stated.

Hon. Nwovu future expressed optimism that with the budget of 2026 for the ministry of infrastructure maintenance, that at the end of the year, there will be remarkable development in the state, especially with the prudent management of scarce resources by Governor Nwifuru.

“With this year’s budget, I do know that before the end of the year, people from all around the country would always come here and have it as the best home they can stay.

“Because so many are captured in this budget. And people do say there is no progress of the work done in the state. Well, that would be as a result of His Excellency’s prudent management of scarce resources. We depend on FAAC allocation for us to execute projects.

“There’s not much money. And the little that comes, he will try to manage it to attend to all the areas. And that is why so many projects have not been commissioned.

“But I am assuring Ebonyians that , before the third year, that is 29th May of the year, so many of all these projects might have been completed. And it’s not just doing new jobs. All the abandoned projects by the previous administration are receiving attention”, he said.
