APC Unveils New Leadership as Yilwatda, NWC Members Receive Certificates of Return

The All Progressives Congress  (APC) has formally inaugurated its newly elected National Working Committee (NWC), with the presentation of Certificates of Return to the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, and other national officers at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

 

The exercise was conducted by the Chairman of the 2026 APC National Convention Election Sub-Committee, Aminu Bello Masari, alongside key leaders of the Central Coordination Committee, including Mai Mala Buni and Yakubu Gogara.

 

Addressing party members at the event, Masari described the process as a reflection of the APC’s internal democratic strength and organisational capacity.

 

“This exercise demonstrates the credibility of our internal processes and our commitment to strengthening party structures for effective governance,” he said.

 

The newly inaugurated NWC features a mix of returning and fresh faces across key leadership positions. Among them are Ali Bukar Dalori as Deputy National Chairman (North), Benjamin Obi Nwoye as Deputy National Chairman (South), and Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru as National Secretary.

 

 

Others are  National Vice Chairman (South-South)  – Hon. Victor Giadom, National Vice Chairman (South-East) – Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, National Vice Chairman (South-West) – Isaac Kekemeke, National Vice Chairman (North-East) – Barr. Idris Shuaibu, National Vice Chairman (North-Central) – Hon. Mu’azu Bawa Rijau, National Vice Chairman (North-West) – Hon. Garba Datti Muhammad, Deputy National Secretary – Prof. AbdulKarim Abubakar Kana,National Legal Adviser – Murtala Aliyu Kankia, National Treasurer – Uguru Mathew Ofoke,National Financial Secretary – Amb. In his remarks, Yilwatda pledged to lead a united and forward-looking party, focused on delivering good governance and strengthening democratic values.

 

“We are committed to building a stronger, more inclusive party that reflects the aspirations of Nigerians and supports the delivery of democratic dividends,” he said.

 

He emphasised the need for unity within the party, urging members to close ranks ahead of future political engagements.

 

“The task ahead requires discipline, unity, and a shared commitment to the ideals of the APC. Together, we will continue to position our party as the vehicle for national development,” Yilwatda added.

 

Party leaders at the event also stressed the importance of cohesion and strategic coordination, noting that the new leadership must consolidate on past gains while preparing for upcoming electoral contests.

 

Analysts say the formal inauguration of the APC’s national leadership marks a critical step in repositioning the party ahead of future elections, as it seeks to strengthen its internal structures and maintain political dominance across the country.
