The Ado State House of Assembly aspirant on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Patriot Nelson Ogbu, received an outpouring of solidarity and goodwill from party leaders and supporters as he laid his mother-in-law, Mrs. Stella Ochanya Ochima, to rest.

The burial ceremony, held at his country home in Apa-Agila, Benue State, brought together family members, political associates, and sympathizers from across the state. Ogbu was joined by his wife, Happiness Oyije Ogbu, her siblings, and extended family in bidding a final farewell to the late Mrs. Ochima, a former Chief Nursing Officer at the General Hospital, Igumale, who passed away on February 28, 2026, at a hospital in Abuja.

Tributes poured in for the deceased, described by many as a dedicated healthcare professional and a compassionate figure whose service impacted countless lives. The solemn gathering reflected both grief and celebration of a life well lived.

In a strong show of party unity, ADC local government and ward executives attended the ceremony, led by the party’s Ado Local Government Chairman, Hon. Shagari Ejeke Dogo, represented by the Secretary, Hon. Peter Ocheje. Also present was the Woman Leader, Mrs. Agatha Ogalegwu, alongside several ward chairmen and members of the party’s working committee.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the party leadership expressed deep condolences to Ogbu and his family, describing him as a steadfast pillar of the ADC in Ado. They prayed for strength and comfort for the family in this difficult time.
Responding, Ogbu expressed heartfelt appreciation for the solidarity shown by the party faithful, noting that the loss of his mother-in-law was a painful blow. He, however, remained optimistic about the future, assuring supporters that the current challenges facing the ADC at the national level would soon be resolved.

The event not only marked a moment of mourning but also underscored the strong bonds within the ADC family in Ado, as party members stood united in support of one of their own.
