Anyim Chisom Godswill, son of the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation(SGF) , Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, has disclosed his intention of venturing into politics, not to obtain power, but to serve the people of Ivo local government area.

Anyim also promised to synergize with the relevant stakeholders  insinuations to inspire the youths and ensure security in Ivo local government area.

The twenty-five years old Anyim Chisom Godswill, stated this during an interview with journalists yesterday after purchasing the All Progressives Congress (APC) expression of interest and nomination form to represent the people of Ivo in Ebonyi State House of Assembly.

It would be recalled that Anyim Chisom Godswill had earlier been adopted by stakeholders of Ivo local government area as the sole candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ivo constituency.

He adduced  his major reason for aspiring for the position was because the governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru has created an environment where the youths can thrive, adding that his emergence would serve as a beacon of hope for the youths of Ivo local government area.

According to him, he is going to continue the great works which leaders of the state have done and to also inspire the youths of Ivo local government area, stating that his intention is to serve and not to obtain power.

He said, “My major reason for coming out to run for this position is simply because of the environment that the Governor has created in Ebonyi State. He has made an environment where the youth feel welcomed.

“He has created an environment where the youth can thrive. He has created an environment where the youth’s voices matter to his ears. So, and that alone gave me the major motivation to come out and serve as a beacon of hope to the people of Ivo local government area and the youths of this state.

“I can say this, that Ivo local government area, over the years, a lot of development has happened there. But at the same time, I’m going there to continue the great works that our previous leaders have done there, and also continue doing great things, and also inspire the youth, and also serve as a beacon of hope to everybody in Ivo local government area”, he promised.

He challenged the youths of Ebonyi State not to consider themselves too young to assume leadership position, expressing disappointment that a lot of youths consider themselves too young,  thinking their opinions don’t matter.

His words, “But at the same time, never in history has there ever been anybody that was too young to lead at all. And most importantly, I’m here to serve, not to obtain power. I’m here to serve my people.

“ I’m here to give them the life they deserve, give them shelter, give them comfort, and give them food, and also make them feel safe, that they have no reason to fear or look over their shoulders, or have a reason that when they’re sleeping at night, they’re sleeping with one eye open. I’m here to make that end. So that’s my reason for coming out

“But I’m here to end that. I’m here to tell them that you’re not too young, and you won’t be young forever. You’re getting older every second.

“So why not take the action now? And also, a lot of them, I can relate to a lot of things with them. And I’m very certain that I have knowledge of the kind of things that I’m going to bring to the local government that’s going to create opportunities for them.

“Opportunities to develop themselves, and opportunities that will help them take their expertise, not just in Ebonyi State, but to spread it out all over the country, the Southeast, Nigeria as a whole”, he promised.
