Renovated Agila Police Station Clears Final Inspection, Awaiting Deployment of Officers
Police technical team commends quality of renovation, pledges swift report to Commissioner for operational reopening of facility

The long-awaited reopening of the Agila Police Station moved a step closer on Tuesday as a technical inspection team from the Benue State Police Command expressed satisfaction with the extensive renovation of the facility and assured the community that a report would be submitted to the Commissioner of Police for the prompt deployment of officers.
The inspection team, representing the Benue State Commissioner of Police and the Officer-in-Charge of the Works Department, visited the station to assess the standard of the rehabilitation work carried out on the facility.
The delegation which was led by ASP Odeh Joseph, Administrative Officer, Works Department, Benue State Police Command Headquarters,the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ado Division, as well as two other senior police officers from the state command Makurdi were received by the the Ward head (Otse-Agila) His Royal Highness Chief Emmanuel Orinya Egwurube, alongside members of his traditional council, the Okwolebi, community stakeholders and local security personnel.
The police team conducted a detailed inspection of the renovated station, assessing key operational areas including offices, the charge counter, armoury, male and female detention cells, open cell, toilets, bathrooms and other supporting facilities.
The delegation also inspected the station’s surroundings and expressed satisfaction with both the quality and scope of the renovation.
According to members of the inspection team, the rehabilitation meets the required standards for police operations, and they assured the community that their findings would be forwarded to the Commissioner of Police without delay.
The team expressed satisfaction with the extent and quality of the renovation work and assured the community that a favourable report would be submitted to the Commissioner of Police to facilitate the deployment of personnel to Agila as soon as possible.
The development has been welcomed by residents and stakeholders, who described the inspection as a significant milestone toward restoring full policing services to Agila after years of inadequate infrastructure which orchestrated the absent of police in the community.
Community leaders also paid glowing tribute to the pioneer/initiator of the renovation, Mr. Joseph Adotse Agbese, for sponsoring what they described as the comprehensive and standard renovation of the police station.
They noted that the upgraded facility would not only improve security in Agila and neighbouring communities but also provide police personnel with a conducive working environment capable of enhancing effective law enforcement and community policing.
