Steven Adoyi, in Igumale, the Ado Local Government headquarters as they embarked on a thank-you tour to appreciate party members for their support during the recent primary elections.
Ogbu, who hosted the delegation alongside party leaders, stakeholders and supporters, described the visit as an important opportunity to appreciate the people of Ado for their confidence in the ADC and the candidates who emerged from the party’s peaceful and transparent primary elections.
The delegation was received in Ado by the ADC Local Government Chairman, Hon. Ejike Shagari, who welcomed the candidates and their supporters to the local government.
Addressing the gathering, former Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Stephen Onmeje, commended the ADC candidates for embarking on the thank-you tour, noting that the visit demonstrated the party’s commitment to its grassroots supporters.
He said the ADC had provided a peaceful and credible platform for candidates to emerge, describing the party as a viable alternative for Benue South at a time when other political parties are experiencing internal crises.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Nelson Ogbu said the ADC in Ado was united and determined to provide purposeful representation and leadership for the people.
Ogbu expressed confidence in the strength of the party at the grassroots, stressing that the thank-you tour was not merely about politics but also about appreciating the people who stood behind the candidates during the primary elections.
He urged ADC members and supporters to remain united and committed as the party moves towards the 2027 general elections.
Also speaking, Hon. Steven Adoyi, the ADC candidate for the Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, thanked the people of Ado for their support during the primary elections. He said the socio-economic challenges confronting Nigerians require a new approach to leadership and governance, adding that the ADC offers the constituency an opportunity for positive change.
In his remarks, Dr. David Olofu, the ADC candidate for Benue South Senatorial District, appealed to the people to support the party’s candidates in the spirit of fairness, unity and collective progress. He emphasized the need for leadership that places the welfare of the people above personal interests.
The event ended with the inauguration of a 20-member Ado Local Government Campaign Council. The council is expected to coordinate grassroots mobilisation and campaign activities across Ado ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The visit further demonstrated the growing coordination among ADC candidates and party structures in Ado as the party prepares for the 2027 elections.
