DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONALS: SEPTEMBER 16 GOD CONNECTED DESTINY (1) SCRIPTURE: ECCL. 6:10; ISAIAH 46: 10 – 11
Every human being should be able to trace his/her root by birth, either through the mother or the father. This is talking of being traced to a family. Our conceptions come from different sources when talking of the roots through which we came into this world too.This root matters a lot to the nature of destiny we are born with. Some parent sourced their child from the gods or goddesses. Those sourced from the gods or goddesses are dedicated to the god or goddess that brought them into the world. There are other groups of persons that their parents sourced their births from God the Almighty. These persons, though may experience certain difficulties in life, yet come off them by divine intervention. They could be said to being connected to divine destiny. The latter root is what this devotional is dealing with today.
Talking of destiny here we mean the predetermined course of events which are laid out for us, controlling our lives beyond our controls. It is important here to point out that human beings are connected to two major kinds of destinies. One is programmed and monitored by evil worlds while the other is programmed and monitored by heavenly angels. Those who do not believe in God have their destinies owned by spirits other than the Spirit of God. The true believers in God the Almighty do not believe that evil forces control their events in life. We believe that God has put down good things for us in existence from ages, and no one can contend with us in line with Eccl. 6: 10. Therefore, their expectations are always positive. But then, why do they respond to ugly situations which come their ways? This is where many of them backslide when ugly situations come upon them like torrential rains.
We Christians can cope with unusual circumstances only when we agree that our destinies cannot be blocked. We must be aware that demons and evil forces have power, though not ultimate powers, to frustrate our destinies. Having equipped ourselves with this hard-fact knowledge, the only thing expected of us is nothing but believing in God that things will get better for us. Negative emotional reactions will definitely takes us nowhere in our Christian life. Irony of life is that people around us make things more difficult at times. They give us off to worthless conclusions. This devotional is building on a fact that people whose destinies are connected to God will ever be made to fulfill their destinies. This is typified in the story of Leah as one with her destiny connected God’s plan for her marriage. Follow into tomorrow, the beloved.
PRAYER:
BLESSED FATHER, I know that you know all my ways. I believe my destiny is under your control. I pray that you give me courage to pass through my ugly situations till your help comes in Jesus name.
