BREAKING: DELTA WORKERS DIRECTED TO RESUME WORK FOLLOWING GOVERNOR’S INTERVENTION OVER DEATH OF DEPUTY DIRECTOR – Comr. Ofobruku

Following the timely intervention of the Delta State Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, and the constitution of an Administrative Panel of Inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the untimely death of Mr. Adeda Ekwevugbe, Deputy Director in the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, organized labour has directed workers to resume duties.
The Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Delta State Chapter, Comrade Goodluck Ofobruku, and his Trade Union Congress (TUC) counterpart, Comrade Willson Asekutu, advised workers to resume work on Monday by 8:00 a.m.
Comrade Ofobruku disclosed that labour leaders have met with the State Governor, noting that the criminal angle is being investigated and arrests have been made. He added that all parties found culpable shall be prosecuted in accordance with the law, hence workers should remain calm as the unions will ensure that no stone is left unturned and justice shall be served.
He thanked all workers in the state for their show of solidarity and assured that the unions will support the family of the deceased in every possible way.
He further urged workers to remain diligent in the discharge of their duties, while appreciating Governor Oborevwori for his prompt intervention.
According to him, the unions will collaborate with the Panel of Inquiry to ensure justice is served, adding that workers should remain committed to effective service delivery.
