Essiet Hails Tinubu’s Infrastructure Revolution , Welcome Umahi’s Flag-Off of 376km Road Project in Niger

The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Community Engagement (North Central), Abiodun Essiet hails president Bola Ahmed Tinubu continued infrastructure revolution across the country, especially North Central, welcomed the planned flag-off of the reconstruction and dualisation of the 376-kilometre Lambata–Bida–Mokwa–Makenra–Kontagora Road in Niger State, describing it as an important step towards improving connectivity and stimulating economic activities.

The Federal Government is scheduled to flag off the project on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, in Bida, Niger State, with the Minister of Works, Senator Engr. David Umahi, expected to lead the ceremony.

Essiet expressed support for the infrastructure initiative, noting that improved road networks are essential for connecting communities, supporting farmers and businesses, facilitating trade and creating opportunities for economic growth.

She said the project reflects the importance of sustained investment in infrastructure under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in developing transportation networks that serve communities and contribute to national development.

 

The 376-kilometre road stretches from Lambata Junction through Bida, Mokwa and Makenra to Kontagora, providing a strategic transportation corridor within Niger State.

When completed, the reconstructed and dualised road is expected to improve movement along the corridor, ease the transportation of agricultural produce and other goods, and strengthen commercial links between communities.

 

The planned flag-off forms part of the Federal Government’s broader infrastructure development efforts aimed at improving road connectivity and supporting economic activities across the country.
