Former Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, Philip Aduda has formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging to mobilise strong political support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Aduda made this known while speaking during an interview following his formal defection to the ruling party, stating that his decision was driven by his commitment to national progress and his belief in the policies of the current administration.

The former lawmaker noted that he played a significant role in mobilising support for President Tinubu during the 2023 general elections and was actively involved in resolving electoral challenges that arose during the process.

“I played a significant role in mobilising support for Mr. President during the 2023 general election,” Aduda said. “Whenever there were challenges regarding the conduct of elections, I was often at the center of resolving them.”

He explained that his decision to fully align with the APC was deliberate and aimed at strengthening the party ahead of future elections.

“In view of this, I have taken a deliberate decision to align fully with the APC and commit myself to working for the success of Mr. President. I am confident that victory in future elections will not be difficult for us,” he added.

The former senator pointed to the outcome of the recent Area Council elections in the FCT as evidence of the party’s growing strength, noting that collaboration and unity within the party led to a decisive victory.

“If you look at the last Area Council elections, the outcome speaks for itself. Through collaboration and unity, we secured five out of six positions,” he said.

Aduda expressed optimism that the APC would record even greater successes in future elections, particularly in delivering overwhelming support for President Tinubu in the 2027 polls.

He described his defection as part of a broader political realignment across the country, where Nigerians who believe in reform, development, and progressive governance are gravitating toward the ruling party.

According to him, the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda has continued to attract widespread support as it focuses on economic restructuring and national development.

“The policies and programmes of Mr. President, particularly the Renewed Hope Agenda, continue to attract widespread support. Nigerians are increasingly seeing the APC as the viable platform for delivering a truly progressive political and economic structure,” he said.

Aduda also commended the ongoing reforms by the administration, describing them as bold steps that are already yielding results and inspiring confidence among Nigerians.

He further expressed confidence that the North Central region would play a crucial role in strengthening the APC and delivering strong electoral support for the party in the coming years.

“With the level of support we are seeing, I am confident that the North Central will strongly deliver for the APC,” he said.
