NIGERIA COMMITTED TO RESOLVING THE PALESTINE QUESTION

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu received in audience the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Nigeria, Muhannad Alhammouri.
Discussions during the meeting according to a media report make available to Pan Afric Reporters the ministry were centred on peace and coexistence with the Minister reiterating Nigeria’s position of a two-state solution as panacea to the Palestine question.
According to Ambassador Bianca, “Nigeria will continue to support the independence of the State of Palestine, and that the Palestine people’s right to self-determination is non-negotiable”.
Speaking further, she noted that Nigeria like most other countries was concerned about finding solution to the Palestinian question, with particular reference to humanitarian crisis , the impact or toll on vulnerable children and women.
The Palestinian Ambassador in his remarks thanked the Minister of State for the audience and went further to state that over 2million people were displaced in Gaza, but Palestine will want to live peacefully with Israel.
