DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONALS: MARCH 12 NATION THAT HER PEOPLE LIE? (2) SCRIPTURE: ESTHER 9: 6, 12, 15

Yesterday’s devotional brushed over some things noted in a nation that her people tell lies. Some might not believe in the angles the devotional went. However, there are enough facts on evil consequences of lies in any nation which a small space like this devotional can exhaust. As love of money forms the root of all evil, cherishing lies forms systematic destruction of any nation; especially lying to gain political positions as well as becoming rich and wealthy over others. In a nation where almost everyone lies, it is difficult to find one telling the truth even when it is time to speak the truth. This usually poses danger for the liars and the citizens. Lying always takes the lives of many who believed in the lies when truth emerged. This happened to about 500 of the loyalists of Haman including his 10 children (Esther 9: 6, 12). Another 300 were killed at the fortress of Susa and 75,000 killed in the royal provinces (Esther 9: 15); bringing the total to 75, 800 people. It took longer time for Haman to scheme lies against Mordecai and his fellow Hebrews. But it took few weeks to cut down his people at the emergence of the truth.

Any nation that takes delight in working with loyalists who go about lying on innocent people so as to destroy them for personal reason is breeding murderers. The Bible says: “A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow” (Proverbs 25: 18 KJV). In other words, any King who listen to people who tell lies is raising wicked people. Those lied upon are seen by God as being hit with ax, wounded with sword and shot with sharp arrows already (Proverbs 25: 18.). This translates to reason there are great numbers of people being killed at intervals of time in a nation where most of the governments’ loyalists are liars. In a nation where people tell lies, reasonable developments, employments and economic growth are hardly noticed. This is because all reported achievements of the governments are falsified. The beloved of the LORD, what do you have to say on your observation of a nation that her people are telling lies?

Assuredly, when a nation begins to leads or measure her basic leadership powers on lies, deterioration subtly set in that few more years, total collapse of the systems is established. Christians should know how to assist a destroying nation living on lies by teaching her the value of truth. Imagine how good and pleasant a nation that everyone makes it his/her civic duty to stand by truth, defend the truth and enforces truth in all facets of living will be. Such a nation attracts business people, investors and social lives which increases the welfare of her citizens. This devotional warns the world leaders encouraging her people to tell lies to desist from such system of governance. It negative result is destructions.

PRAYER:

Blessed Father, save all nations of the world that their peoples thrive in telling lies and encouraging their rulers to operate on falsehood by redirecting their hearts and minds to living in truths in Jesus name.
