The Bible warns that holding on to anger can lead to sin, when some people are angry, they might take out their emotions on other people and cause problem that will probably lead to fight. People find it very difficult to admit the evil nature of anger. Perhaps, this is because the spirit of anger is so close at hand!

A review of the consequences of anger can help to motivate those with a spirit of anger to get rid of it.
Anger is unacceptable before God:
We can never accomplish God’s ways with anger. The Bible admonishes that we should be quick to hear slow to speak and low to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God (James 1: 19 – 20). Anger leads to more anger (Prov. 10: 12). If you think one’s anger is bad now, it will get worse unless you take a strong deliberate course of action to stop it. Prov. 19: 19 says “A man of great anger shall bear the penalty for if you rescue him, you will only have to do it again.” You can become addictive to anger if not checked. That is why it has become necessary to ask yourself the following questions.
When was the last time I lost my temper?
Do I ever physically hurt someone through my anger?
What are some of the phrases I used when angry?
Have I ever apologized for my anger?
What relationships are being stressed because of unresolved anger?

The gospel of Jesus Christ is centered around God’s love for us and through us. We cannot tolerate anger in our lives. Anger brings physical, emotional and social damages to our lives and the lives of others. All these serious consequences point to our need of the gospel of Christ’s love.

Almost everybody in our nations is angry right now; we are very angry to the point that it has become very difficult for us to hear, understand and follow God’s instructions. Looking at Nigeria situation for example, almost everything is out of reach by an average Nigerian. Life has become very difficult; we are crying and even when God has heard us and will want to help us out; the anger in us has made us not to listen. God is ready to bring out water from the rock…the rocky situation we find ourselves can be quashed by the Almighty God our Father, because there is no impossibility with Him, Cheer up children of God! Cheer up Nigerians and the world at large. God is about to do a new thing.

PRAYER:

LORD JESUS, save me from excessive anger that will send to hell.
