DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONALS: SEPTEMBER 6 CUSTODIANS OF DIVINE SECRETS (1) SCRIPTURE: DEUTERONOMY 29: 29
Among many gifts got from God, the gift of knowing hidden things that others cannot makes one who has the gifts become a most feared mystical being. Almost every human being reveres a man or woman who pries into things ordinary human lacks the ability to discern. Among many Christians’ ministries or denominations in the world, the seemingly fastest growing in the 21st Century could be prophetic ministries. Even in the midst of the prophets there are classes. The fake ones and real ones spread across the world. The more realistic and accurate one’s prophetic utterances are, the greater the crowd such pulls. Obviously, there are people endowed with power of accessing secret things. However, there are those who operate by manipulations. Those manipulating get the secrets from evil spirits. Today’s devotional is dwelling on secrets which come from God directly upon those He bestows the abilities to see secret things.
Naturally, we are wired with tendencies to go in search of why certain thing happens to us. In so doing, we head to one known for knowing hidden things. In doing so, it is advisable to search for one who is a custodian of divine secrets. Many have gone to find secrets behind their problems and came out damaged after discovering the secrets. Some ran mad; some lost their lives while many others lost their destinies. The only sure and assured source of secrets Christians should go after are the secrets which come directly from God. This secret is “divine revelation.” One of the lead texts today says: “The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law (Deuteronomy 29: 29). For anyone to become a content of receiving genuine secrets, he/she must tap it from the LORD our God. Besides the secrets that are revealed by God, any other is not genuine.
In this series of our devotional, we will be dealing with those who are custodians of receiving secrets from God direct. These secrets are “Divine Secrets.” Divine secrets are not revealed things to man. They are hidden things that only the Almighty God sees and makes those He allowed to discern access. No matter our claims to be Christians, our Christianity will not be effective until we are endowed with receiving secrets of the world and things happening around us from God. Reading through the Old and New Testaments will enable us know true carriers, or custodians of Divine Secrets. These groups of people are so many to point them out one by one. We will point out some of them in the next devotional.
PRAYER:
JEHOVAH FATHER, let your Holy Spirit visit members of the churches with people appointed for receiving genuine secrets of this world, in this generation that fake prophets are taking advantages of those passing through the tortures of satan and his agents in Jesus name.
