Gov. Alia Special Adviser Make List of 50 Influential African Women in Sport

Less than a week after the salvaging governor of Benue State, Gov. Hyacinth Ali bags Leadership Newspaper Governor of the Year, 2023 Award, the gov.  Honourable Special Adviser  on Youth And Sports Developments, Hon. Dr. Elizabeth Idoko-Okogun is listed amongst the top 50 influential African Women in Sports.

This milestone achievement can only be possible where women are given opportunity to showcase their talents and potentials, This has put the government of His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hycinth Alia in Africa’s spotlight, for giving women a space in the political affairs of the State, which has been recognized by the continent, this positive recognition of Benue State to the world is worth of applauding.

In Commemorating the International Women’s Day -2024, with the theme ‘Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,’ AFRICA SPORTS VENTURES GROUP (ASVG) is shining a light on African women who are key players in advancing the sports industry.

These women are making a significant impact in various aspects, driving growth and development in the sector.

The initiative focuses on women excelling in Sports Administration, Business, Media, and Technology, contributing to an industry brimming with potential for substantial
socioeconomic and cultural change across the continent.

They have identified fifty (50) most influential women in their respective fields, emphasizing that they are all valued equally without any specific ranking or classification based on status or quality.

They extend their gratitude to these women for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts in elevating the sports industry to its rightful place as a transformative force in every community across the continent.

The statement partly reads,

“Elizabeth Idoko-Okogun, An experienced sports professional with a proven track record in the sports industry, Proficient in business development, sales, marketing, digital marketing, talent management, risk and asset management.

She currently serves as the Special Adviser to the Governor of Benue
State on Youth & Sports Development”

Dr. Idoko-Okogun who continues to represent Benue and Nigerian women in her career is not just an asset to the Benue state government but a motivation to all African women.
