DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONAL: May 27 CHOSEN TO SERVE Scriptures: 1 Peter 2: 9; 1 Cor. 3: 16; Matt. 9: 36 – 38.

Spread the love

We are elected, selected, marked for favour and given a special privilege to be of use to the master of the universe, the Almighty God and the creator of heaven and earth. What a privilege for God to have considered us worthy of reliance and trust!!! We are a chosen royal priesthood, a holy nation, people who belong to God. We are chosen to tell about the excellent qualities of God, who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.

“…the harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few”. The need for laborers is great in the world of today; in our churches, the need for born again, soul-winning workers is very great.

The mission field is very ripe but the labourers are few, millions live and die without a true knowledge of the love of God and the way of salvation.

There is manpower shortage in the kingdom of heaven, every Christian everywhere should be fully engaged in active service for the Lord either in prayer or in preaching or doing both.

As a child of God, are you telling the world about the excellent qualities of God? It is our responsibility to declare the good news of salvation and of His kingdom and to teach the love of God to the dying world. You are a priest before God. Someone may ask; but I’m not an ordained servant of God, how can I be a priest before God?

As believers in Christ, we have been called to engage in spiritual investments towards the advancement and enlargement of the kingdom of God. In other word, we are chosen to serve in God’s Kingdom. Therefore, we should be ready to reach out to the lost souls with salvation message. Because every born again Christian is ordained a soul winner, an ambassador of Christ, ordained to reconcile lost souls back to God. A servant of God is anyone serving God and His interest on earth, because it is possible to be an apostle and not serving the interests of God. You can be a church founder and not serving the interests of God. Serving God is neither a calling nor a gift; it is serving the interests of God and obeying His commands.

As priests before God, no matter your title, we are all labourers in the kingdom. If you want God to pay you your wages, go on and labour for the sake of the kingdom advancement and enlargement. We must continue to witness to our children, family members, neighbors, and the rest of the world about how Jesus changed our lives and made us better, stronger and happier.

PRAYER POINTS:

Thank God for opening our eyes to our responsibility in the kingdom as priests, pray for grace to serve well.

Ask God for the enablement to work for the advancement and enlargement of the kingdom.

Pray for the visitation of God upon the earth, let the heart of people be turned to God in repentance.

CONFESSION:

I am ordained to serve the interests of God- which is to reach out to lost souls. I am selected, marked for favor and considered worthy of reliance and trust by God. What a privilege!!!!
