DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONAL: JUNE 24 Topic: Having an attitude of a steward. Scriptures: Luke 16: 1 – 12; 1 Cor. 4: 1 – 5

Spread the love

A steward is a person who lives and works with the future in mind. There is a future accountability that a steward cannot avoid, and a glory that a steward does not want to miss. Therefore, he stays calm and self- controlled. He doesn’t lose his head; he exercises judgment and displays a sober spirit. He remained focused emotionally, and does not dissipate his energy in all directions. These make God to know this individual can be trusted with things. _The Bible says: “…whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much…And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own?”A steward is very much aware that the essence of it all is to spend eternity in heaven. He remained focused on his assignment of loving people and making disciples for Christ.

Living a life of hospitality:

Hebrew 13: 1 – 2; Rom 12: 3 “share with God’s people who are in need, practice hospitality.” Hospitality is the creation of a free space where strangers can enter and become a friend instead of an enemy. In welcoming strangers, we may per chance, entertain angels unawares. We have been handed instructions on how to live peaceably with one another. Love your fellow Christians like your own family. Help strangers. Remember prisoners and those who are suffering. Stay faithful in your marriage. Don’t serve money. Be happy with what you have. Respect and emulate your spiritual leaders.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

• My father in heaven, help me to remain focused on my assignment of loving people and making disciples for Christ.
• Give me the grace to help strangers and to love fellow Christians like my family.

CONFESSION:

I want to live righteously and please God with my life, so that after my tenure on earth is over, I will be able to spend eternity in heaven. So help me God.
