The Chairman of Ado Local Government, Engr. Oche Sunday Oche intervened and brought respite to workers of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) who were drafted to Igumale to fix the faulty area on Ugwuaji-Apir 330kV Line.

The Chairman funded a massive security cover to the workers who became frightened on sighting large numbers of Fulanis in the vicinity of the site on the first day of their visit.

The Executive Chairman according to a press release e-signed by Principal Private Secretary (PPS) To The Chairman, Innocent Igelle swung into action immediately after a distress call was made across to him.

In a bid to encourage the workers and to guarantee them of their safety for the duration of their stay in Igumale, Engr. Sunny Oche made provisions for a massive deployment of  Soldiers to provide cover to the sole Security personnel assigned to them. The members of the Nigerian Army deployed to the Local Government Capital on a Rapid Response Mission accompanied the workers to the bushes around the boundaries of Ebonyi and Benue States, which made it possible for the job to be completed within the shortest possible time.

Recall that on October 21, 2024, the 215KM Ugwuaji-Apir double transmission line developed fault that caused power outages across the Northeast, Northwest and parts of the North Central regions. Two teams of linesmen were earlier dispatched to trace the location and their efforts never yielded the desired result.

On a faithful Thursday, which was on October 24, the faulty line was traced to Igumale. After the Chairman calmed the frailed nerves of the frightened field workers, the fault on the Ugwuaji-Apir 330kV Double Circuit transmission line have been rectified. The development will put a smile on the faces of power consumers who were thrown into darkness.
