EUCHARIA WEDDED CEPHAS:Engr. Oche & Mrs. Ikese Join Alia to Celebrate Couple
The Ado Local Government Chairman Engr. Sunny Oche and his Vice, Mrs.
Jane Ikese join the performing People’s governor, Dr. Hyacinth Alia’s and 22 other Local Council Chairmen to celebrate Eucharia & Cephas as they sealed their marital vow today Saturday, October 26, 2024.
The wedding which took place at St. Dominic’s Catholic Parish, Sachi, Terwase Agbadu, Makurdi began with a Mass by 10:00 am.
The Principal celebrant of the day was Reverend Fr. Peter Aondohemba Apagher who was supported by Forty-One (41) other Reverend Fathers.
The first Reading was taken from the Book of Sirach Vs 1-4. The Responsorial Psalm was taken from Psalm 28; Second reading was taken from the book of Genesis 2:18-24 while the Gospel was from the book of Mark 10:2-6.
The marital rite was performed soon after the homily and the couple became happily married. Everyone inside the church was happy for them.
The Ado Council Chairmen who believes in the sanctity of marriage and the blessings that comes with it enjoins the couple to make God their sole fountain whole he calls them to bond in love, patience, tolerant, understanding, forgiveness, and the fear of God. He prays that the good Lord uphold them in his love and grace and bless them with all fruits of marriage.
The Groom’s parents are the Late Mr. and Mrs. Toryila Agber Ifan while the Bride’s parents are Hon. Dr. and Dr. Mrs. Dennis Akura; Dr. Dennis Akura is the adviser to the Benue State Governor on Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs. Chief Host of the day was Bro. and Lady Chris Ber.
The Local Government Chairmen trailblaze the presentation of gifts and donations with a combined donation of One Million (₦1,000,000.00) Naira citing financial constraints and the need to tighten their belts due to the economic reality of the time.
It was a rain of financial donations ranging from departments and agencies of Government. Gifts were presented to the couple who, in turn, gave out customized souvenirs to well-wishers with enough to eat, drink and take away.
The reception climaxed with cultural dance performances followed by musical performances by popular Makurdi-based artists.
Top dignitaries who graced the occasion according to press statement by the Principal Private Secretary (PPS) to Ado LGC Chairman. are the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia who was the Distinguished Guest of Honour alongside his Deputy, Barr. Sam Ode mni. Chairman of the occasion, Speaker of Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Aondona Dajoh. Royal Father of the day, Ter Guma, HRH Chief David Terlumun Afatyo including the Chairmen of Twenty-Three Local Government Councils of Benue State and many others.
