BENUE ACReSAL STC LAUDS PROJECT’S ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE STATE
The Permanent Secretary, of the Ministry of Water Resources, Environment, and Climate Change, and chairman of the State Technical Committee (STC) of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project in Benue State, Mr. Akaa Nyam, has lauded the ACReSAL Project’s achievements in the state.
Akaa who expressed this on Wednesday during the committee’s meeting at the ACReSAL project office in Makurdi noted that “the laudable projects embarked upon by ACReSAL will go a long way in uplifting the state and its people.”
His remarks underscored the vital role that ACReSAL plays not only in environmental sustainability and fostering socio-economic development within Benue State.
The State Project Coordinator of Benue ACReSAL, Bldr. Victor Ama informed that the meeting with the State Technical Committee was to discuss and brainstorm the work plan for the upcoming year.
Bldr. Ama added that the meeting was also meant to serve as a platform for committee members to propose new projects from their respective Ministries that could be integrated into the Project’s work plan.
The Project Coordinator emphasized the need for collaborative input, encouraging all members to submit project ideas that align with ACReSAL’s goals.
He stressed the importance of collaboration and encouraged members from various ministries to present their project ideas. “Your input is invaluable as we seek to enhance the impact of our initiative across the state,” the coordinator remarked, urging participants to think creatively about leveraging the resources ACReSAL provided.
Responding, members expressed their gratitude for the significant impact of the ACReSAL Project within their Ministries, highlighting numerous ACReSAL initiatives that have either been completed or are currently underway across the state, which have been pivotal in enhancing community resilience to climate change.
As the committee continues to refine its strategies and project proposals, the collaboration between the ACReSAL Project and state ministries promises to yield innovative solutions tailored to address the unique challenges faced by communities in the coming year.
