Bayelsa State Surpasses Ebonyi , Others In Terms Of Civil Servants Welfare

…Gov Diri , the only Nigeria Governor as at now that completes abandoned projects from past administrations

Ebis Okpeke, reacts to Mr Aye. S.O Egberi, over his untrue description/comparison of Ebonyi to Bayelsa

Mr Ebis Okpeke, has reacted to a bias and sentimental statement credited to one Mr S.O Aye Egberi , a self acclaimed APC stalwart who tried to demarket Bayelsa State against Ebonyi , and imaginatively undermined the transformative infrastructure provided by the Prosperity Government led by Sen. Douye Diri , adjuged by well-meaning Bayelsans as one of the best the State had experienced .

Ebis Okpeke, who reacted on the issues , noted that Bayelsa State Government is one of best in terms of Civil Servants Welfare , Prompt Payment of wages and promotions implementation including pensioners gratuities under the current administration dated back from 2020 , that it assumed office .

Mr Okpeke, called on Mr Aye Egberi, to remind his memories on how the present Government put to rest the menace of half salary payment , non implementation of workers promotions engraved workers in the State , and efforts the Diri -led administration enrolled inclearing backlog of salaries owed civil servants in the State , with some Local Governments running into 8-9 months as the case before 2020.

Mr Ebis Okpeke , wondered how quick Mr Egberi and his likes , forgot the numerous steps the Prosperity Government had put in place to making Yenagoa a glorified City Capital . Some of which includes the Glory Drive phase 2 which is completed and commissioned for use , the Igbogene-AIT outer ring road also completed and commissioned in 2023, the beautification and facelift of the popular Tombia-Etegwe Roundabout , the completion of the Sani Abacha Expressway dualization in 2023, as well as the construction of over 60 internal roads that links up different Streets within Yenagoa Metropolis .

Ebis Okpeke , reminded Mr Egberi , about the New GRA at Ovom in Yenagoa the State Capital close to the Government House , where the construction of a New Commissioners Quarter, and a State Assembly Quarters that is almost ready for commissioning in February this year 2025 as well as the Etegwe-Onopa Glory Drive phase 3 that undergoing speedy construction together with the bridge to connect the Imgbi Junction to Swali , among others, aimed at smashing Yenagoa to a more beautified State Capital .

On the issue of abandoned projects , Mr Okpeke accused Mr Egberi of trying to play deliberate blindness to the numerous Uncompleted Projects counted from Late Chief DSP Alamiedigha of blessed memories , H.E Chief Timipre Sylva and Sen. Seriake Dickson ‘s administrations where the Governor without attaching any political colouration of sentiment and not minding the political party his predecessor aligned to, is consolidating and that is not only reconstructed such projects but also with some given an additional branding , and also Completed for use by the Sen. Diri’s administration .

Ebis Okpeke, who is a Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Gov Diri, recounted some of such projects to include the State Judges Quarters at Opolo , completed and commissioned by the Prosperity Government , the Yenagoa-Oporoma road and bridge projects where the Diri’s led Administration took it up from Igeibiri and completed the Aguobiri bridge in Southern Ijaw LGA , took it further with the Angiama-Oproma bridge and still ongoing with the target to hit Ukubie

Which now is 80% work done and the additional Award of 2.7km road linking Otuan Community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area , The Re-awarding of the Nembe-Brass 21km Road to Julius Berger with about 6km of it now drivable as against the flamed amount N10 billion Naira that ran into pseudo accounts as claimed by previous administration in 2009 which never saw a tipper of sand dropped on it before the Prosperity Government took it over , and just to mention but few .

” I am very bewildered at the biasness of my friend Mr Egberi Aye in trying to demarket Bayelsa State , when he knows very well such falsified propaganda against the State and Government won’t bring him any gains .

“Bayelsa State , is the only State in Southern Nigeria where the Governor is where civil servants enjoy receiving their salaries 25th of every month since February 14, 2020 to date , this is the only Government Bayelsans have seen genuineness to workers welfare including the Retirees that receives gratuities unlike some of the States he tried to compare that is till today owing backlog of salaries of their civil servants ,

” Civil Servants In Bayelsa have enjoyed Christmas Bonuses as well as Wage Awards for the past four years counting and only a blind or deaf critique can play politics of hatred with this facts , Mr Egberi need to make his findings properly not to misled the public and stop being unfair to the people of Bayelsa State .

“Bayelsa State Governor approved and his paying 80k as New Minimum wage for her workers while the State he tried comparing us to paid 70k, even though there is no need to banter words with him in mediocrity and condescending issues that will not add or make any impact on Bayelsa ‘s Development”Ebis Okpeke quoted .
